Stacked Turkey Club Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 6 large romaine or butter lettuce leaves
  • 8 oz sliced deli turkey
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and let cool slightly.
  2. Wash and thoroughly dry the lettuce leaves. Arrange 3 overlapping leaves on a sheet of parchment paper to create a sturdy wrap.
  3. Spread half of the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard over the center of the lettuce.
  4. Layer half of the turkey, cheddar cheese, tomato, avocado, and bacon over the lettuce. Season lightly with black pepper.
  5. Fold the sides of the lettuce inward, then tightly roll the lettuce around the filling like a burrito.
  6. Wrap tightly in the parchment paper and cut the wrap in half through the center.
  7. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make the second wrap.
  8. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat.

Smart Substitutions

Skip the bread: Using sturdy lettuce leaves instead of sandwich bread dramatically reduces the carbohydrate content while keeping the familiar turkey-club fillings.

Choose the lettuce carefully: Romaine provides crunch and structure, while butter lettuce makes a softer, more flexible wrap. Overlap several leaves so the filling stays contained.

Change the cheese: Swiss, provolone, or pepper Jack can replace the cheddar without significantly changing the carbohydrate count.

Watch the deli turkey: Check the label for varieties without added sugar or sweet glazes.

No mayo option: Mashed avocado or a little extra Dijon mustard works well in place of mayonnaise.

Storage & Reheating

Refrigerator: These are best eaten fresh, but assembled wraps can be refrigerated for up to 1 day. Wrap them tightly in parchment paper or plastic wrap.

Meal-prep option: For better texture, prepare the bacon and other fillings ahead of time and keep them refrigerated separately. Assemble the lettuce wraps shortly before eating.
